Présentation
Learning outcome targets

The aim of this course is to provide training in political science related to public policy. More precisely, this is focused on three main themes which correspond to multiple opportunities in the workplace and which are connected with areas of research in laboratories:
-local and national public action (in three main areas: prevention and safety policies, regional policies and ecological transition policies)
-international public action (cooperation policy, development policies and international negotiations on public policy issues)
-policy-related communication: communication by public institutions on the policies they pursue and by private organisations as part of their strategies to influence.
The course focuses closely on theoretical teaching (training through research in connection with the fields of specialisation in the linked laboratories) and teaching with a professional dimension (with a significant contribution from professional contributors, practical exercises, professional role-playing situations - role-playing games in particular - and seminars on methods preparing for entry into professional life).
Emphasis is also placed on the international aspect, not only in the 3 courses dealing with international policies, but also in the 5 others: by taking into account international and European standards, by integrating comparative studies, by teaching in English and English lessons, by developing international partnerships and by the possibility of work placements or dissertations abroad.
The aim of the course is also to enable political science students to enrol in research programmes related to the research topics of the 2 UMRs in social science to which the ECs in political science are attached (CESDIP and Printemps): criminal policies, urban policies, social and health policies, sustainable development and ecological transition policies, and international and communication professionals in particular.
