Fighting sexual and gender-based violence
Université Paris-Saclay organises awareness-raising campaigns and training courses for its students, PhD candidates and staff. It has also set up a report unit for sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) and discrimination. On this page, you will find all of the actions that the university has put in place.
Monitoring, listening and support to tackle sexual and gender-based violence
To put a stop to harassment and encourage victims to break their silence, the Dalida incident report unit, made up of officers, doctors, nurses and social workers, is in place to receive, support, listen to and guide people who are victims or witnesses of such behaviour, in order to put a stop to all types of harassment (sexual, moral, cyberbullying, gender-based violence, assault, rape, indecent exposure, etc.) and discrimination.

E-learning training module
To strengthen its policy in this area, at the start of the 2023 academic year, Université Paris-Saclay launched an e-learning training and awareness-raising module for its entire student, academic and staff community.
Lasting a total of 75 minutes, this module is made up of four separate profiles corresponding to the different personal and professional situations that students and staff may encounter in university life. It provides tools for identifying the various forms of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), learning about the measures to take, as well as internal and external support and counselling schemes.
It will be aimed particularly at PhD candidates (an average of 1,000 thesis defences per year) and thesis supervisors (4,500 people registered on the ADUM platform), as the subordinate relationship and the dependence that links them is more likely to give rise to harassment. Anyone wishing to supervise a thesis should take this training course as a priority.
This module is part of the ongoing fight against SGBV at our university, and of a more global plan to train and raise awareness among members of our community in the prevention of such violence, thus fostering a harmonious and respectful environment for all.
Raising awareness among student associations
The charter signed between the university and its student associations includes a section on sexual and gender-based violence. It is everyone’s duty to combat SGBV. As a result, student associations each have an appointed officer for SGBV issues who works to anticipate risks. In 2022, the Student Health Service introduced awareness and protection kits as part of the organisation of students' evening events.
