This Master's 1 program offers specialized training in the management and understanding of public action at various levels (from local to international), with an emphasis on territorial policies, European and international policies, security policies, and cultural policies. It is part of a dual degree program with a master's degree from Sciences Po, awarded by Sciences Po Saint-Germain-en-Laye, where the courses are held.

The Master 1 in Multi-Level Public Policy is organized around four elements:

-common courses on ecological transition and administrative transformation

-specialized courses (four specializations are offered: public and regional affairs, European and international policy, arts and cultural policy, security and intelligence)

-research training enabling students to acquire methodological and analytical tools for understanding current public policies

-language courses (two modern languages are compulsory).

This Master's 1 program is divided into two balanced semesters (8 weeks of classes).

Objectives

The objective of the Master 1 in Multi-Level Public Policy is to offer training in political science related to the governance of public policies at different levels , more specifically around five main themes corresponding to specialized Master 2 courses within the political science program, with multiple career opportunities: public affairs, territorial policies, European and international policies, security and intelligence policies, and artistic and cultural policies.

This Master's 1 program trains experts who are open to the main challenges of current public policies at the various levels at which they are defined, developed, adopted, and implemented (from local to international).

Target Audience and Entry Requirements

The M1 multi-level public policy program is primarily open to students with a bachelor's degree in political science or from an Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po). It is also open to students who have studied social sciences and humanities, primarily sociology, public law, history, geography, and urban planning. They must also apply for the entrance exam for the fourth year at Sciences Po Saint-Germain-en-Laye for the dual degree program.
