GS Chemistry: International

The public profile of the Chemistry Graduate School's activities at an international level is ensured by the International and European Relations Department (DRIE) at Université Paris-Saclay.

The following sections deal with both the educational and research components. They provide information and direct practical links on incoming and outgoing exchanges for students at Master's and PhD level, as well as for university staff and foreign guests.

In addition, they contain the procedures for setting up institutional agreements, as well as the contact details of the ‘international relations coordinators’ of the various providers and provide an overview of the international partnerships active within Université Paris-Saclay.

Incoming exchanges

If you are a student at a foreign university which has an exchange agreement with Université Paris-Saclay, you can complete and validate part of your studies here. Each study programme must be validated beforehand (during the semester prior to the stay) by the exchange coordinator of the host institution.

Foreign students can be accepted on to the various  Chemistry Master study paths at Université Paris-Saclay if they have the necessary required qualifications and their application files have been examined by the relevant course leaders. These courses are taught in French, except for some M1 and M2 courses, which are taught exclusively in English.

The SERP+ Master aims at training students in the most performing experimental and theoretical tools used and developed in chemistry, preparing them to become topmost researchers and managers in areas of great relevance.

PhD students at a foreign partner institution can enjoy placements lasting several weeks in a laboratory at Université Paris-Saclay to carry out projects which are relevant to their research activities.

Châteaubriand Programme

Fulbright Programme

The Orsay Faculty of Science provides funding for visiting researchers and lecturers invited by its disciplinary departments. The duration of the stay is one month and researchers can be reimbursed up to €3,350 to pay for the trip’s expenses. A form containing some elements of the invited guest's CV and the project planned during his/her stay should be sent to each CCSU before the end of September of the year preceding the visit.

Outgoing exchanges

Periods spent abroad are a way of gaining very valuable experience at both a personal and professional level.

A supervised exchange allows you to spend from 3 months (minimum) to 12 months (maximum) in a partner university, during which part of your studies are completed and validated. The study programme for each of these periods must be validated beforehand (during the semester preceding the period of the stay) by the heads of the educational programmes of the two partner universities.

Research periods lasting 2 to 6 months are possible for students between L3 and M2 enrolled at a LERU member university, as part of the STREAM programme.

There is also the option of completing a stay abroad for a period of 6 weeks to 6 months.
