M2 Automotive and Aeronautic Intelligent Systems - Apprenticeship training
The objective of the Intelligent Automotive and Aeronautical Systems (SIAA) program, offered at the Évry site, is to equip students with the skills required for the design and development of intelligent mobile systems, with a focus on ground vehicles, aerial systems, and aerospace robotics. The curriculum covers the entire perception – decision – action chain, while also addressing communication, interfacing, and integration challenges.
The courses are structured around a fundamental core, a theoretical foundation, and a specialization track. They also include an introduction to business and industry knowledge, in order to prepare students for innovation and industrial integration.
Acquire a cross-disciplinary overview while having an excellent scientific grounding in the automation of embedded systems,
in order to be able to design, test, implement and validate command methods.
The program combines professional experience within a company with academic education provided by the UFR ST of the University of Évry Paris Saclay. The E3A Master’s apprenticeship programs at the Évry site are organized in collaboration with the CFA-EVE.
Job opportunities for those completing an apprenticeship are primarily in the automotive and aeronautics sectors and to a lesser extent, in the space, rail and marine sectors.
SIAA professionals carry out multidisciplinary, technical and scientific tasks in all fields related to the control of electrical energy, the control and command of embedded systems, power electronics, signal and image processing, industrial computing, telecommunications and transmissions, and instrumentation. They are involved in R&D, in testing and measurements and in project management.
The programme, as a whole, addresses techniques for solving problems that concern smart systems and automated or autonomous systems (for example, IMU/GNSS hybridisation, automatic generation of planning trajectories). Apprentices carries out their tasks in major industrial groups as well as in mid-sized companies and research laboratories.
Over the course of their jobs, apprentices are required to:
-Develop and industrialise new products and processes
-Develop industrial software packages
-Conduct testing campaigns
-Develop maintenance plans
-Develop and implement information systems
-Steer continuous improvement projects
The targeted professions are:
-R & D engineer
-Testing engineer
-Business engineer
-Researcher
-In study, research and development: Director and project manager, Director of studies and design, Structure manager, Telecoms software architect, Development director, Prototypes manager, Testing manager, Process engineer, Competition analysis engineer, Validation engineer, Systems engineer, Engineer in charge of applications
-In production and related services: Technical support manager, Design office support manager, Quality engineer, Customer support engineer
-In the commercial sector: Business Manager, Technical Advisor, Technical Sales Engineer, Sales Support Engineer
Among the large companies or establishments recruiting in the field, it is worth mentioning: Thalès, PSA, Renault, EADS, Siemens, Veolia, Valeo, Schneider Electric, Safran, Akka, Alten, Air France, CorsairFly, Safran. These types of jobs are also available in subcontracting IT services companies.
The program is primarily intended for candidates who have completed part of their studies in a French higher education institution. It is open to:
- students who have successfully completed the first year of a Master’s program,
- holders of an engineering degree or a Master’s degree (M2) obtained abroad,
in the following fields: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Control, and Robotics.
Candidates must be under 30 years old, have a scientific and technological background, and meet the admission requirements listed above. Selection is carried out by the University based on the academic record and an individual interview. Final admission is subject to the signing of a two-year apprenticeship contract or a professional training contract with a host company for the academic year.
Part of the program takes place within a company under an apprenticeship contract.
Parcours de Master E3A en formation initiale, mais la transition n’est pas automatique.
After completing the programme, students will have acquired dual competences in the command/perception of smart systems in the automotive and aeronautical fields. Their career prospects include:
- Executives in the R&D departments of large companies operating in the automotive or aeronautical sectors.
- Doctoral students in research laboratories specialising in subjects related to smart vehicles, autonomous
systems, mobile robotics, aerial or flying systems.
