Présentation
Objectives

The E3A master cursus, carried out by the University of Paris-Saclay and managed by the University of Evry-Val-d'Essonne, aims to give solid foundations in all areas of engineering sciences related to electronics, energy, automation, computer engineering, communications and signal and image processing, with direct professional integration.
The objective of the master M2 Automotive and Aeronautic Intelligent Systems objective is the mastery of the concepts, models and techniques necessary for the design and development of intelligent systems: land vehicles (car vehicles, 2-wheelers, trains, …), air, aeronautical robotics and spatial,… The SIAA courses deal with the whole cycle of “perception, decision, action” without obscuring the communication and interfacing aspects between the control part and the operational part. The disciplines covered are: modeling, simulation, automation, signal and image processing, on-board computing, communication, risk factors, knowledge of the company.

Pedagogically, the SIAA Master training in apprenticeship at the Evry University area, a high-level training as close as possible to the latest technologies and in close collaboration with industrialists and recognized research laboratories in the field, allows to give the necessary skills to participate in the many technological challenges of the industry and to be able to quickly exercise responsibilities. Apprenticeship training, based on the alternation principle, combines the advantages of traditional university training (theoretical and practical) and company experience (experience acquisition). Apprentice students receive real theoretical and practical training. They are gradually prepared to become field engineers perfectly responding to the current demands of mid-caps and large companies, using their experience lived in the professional environment and able of ensuring a certain versatility in business.

Course Prerequisites

This programme is intended for applicants who have received at least one qualification in a French teaching institution over the course of their education. Required profile: applicants who have completed the first year of a Master's degree or hold an international engineering degree or M2 in the following fields: - GEII (Electrical Engineering, Industrial IT) - Informatics - EEA (Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation) - E3A (Electronics, Electrical Energy, Automation) - Signal and image processing - Automation and Robotics - Aeronautics and space Students under 30 years of age, from a scientific and technological background, who meet the above admission conditions, may apply. Apprenticeship applicants are selected by the University upon examination of academic records, followed by individual interviews. Final admission to the programme is granted once selected applicants sign an apprenticeship contract or professional contract with a host company, for the duration of the academic year.

Skills
  • Acquire a cross-disciplinary overview while having an excellent scientific grounding in the automation of embedded systems,
in order to be able to design, test, implement and validate command methods.

  • Master the entire functional chain associating sensors, actuators and effectors as well as the hardware and software architectures
of the interfaces between the different components of a smart system.

  • Implement a "systems" approach on real-life engineering problems in the innovation professions.

  • Understand the various embedded architectures and interface methodology.

  • Model and optimise a complex system.

  • Manage a project, work in a team.

Post-graduate profile

After completing the programme, students will have acquired dual competences in the command/perception of smart systems in the automotive and aeronautical fields. Their career prospects include:
- Executives in the R&D departments of large companies operating in the automotive or aeronautical sectors.
- Doctoral students in research laboratories specialising in subjects related to smart vehicles, autonomous
systems, mobile robotics, aerial or flying systems.

Career prospects

Job opportunities for those completing an apprenticeship are primarily in the automotive and aeronautics sectors and to a lesser extent, in the space, rail and marine sectors.

SIAA professionals carry out multidisciplinary, technical and scientific tasks in all fields related to the control of electrical energy, the control and command of embedded systems, power electronics, signal and image processing, industrial computing, telecommunications and transmissions, and instrumentation. They are involved in R&D, in testing and measurements and in project management.

The programme, as a whole, addresses techniques for solving problems that concern smart systems and automated or autonomous systems (for example, IMU/GNSS hybridisation, automatic generation of planning trajectories). Apprentices carries out their tasks in major industrial groups as well as in mid-sized companies and research laboratories.

Over the course of their jobs, apprentices are required to:
-Develop and industrialise new products and processes
-Develop industrial software packages
-Conduct testing campaigns
-Develop maintenance plans
-Develop and implement information systems
-Steer continuous improvement projects

The targeted professions are:
-R & D engineer
-Testing engineer
-Business engineer
-Researcher
-In study, research and development: Director and project manager, Director of studies and design, Structure manager, Telecoms software architect, Development director, Prototypes manager, Testing manager, Process engineer, Competition analysis engineer, Validation engineer, Systems engineer, Engineer in charge of applications
-In production and related services: Technical support manager, Design office support manager, Quality engineer, Customer support engineer
-In the commercial sector: Business Manager, Technical Advisor, Technical Sales Engineer, Sales Support Engineer

Among the large companies or establishments recruiting in the field, it is worth mentioning: Thalès, PSA, Renault, EADS, Siemens, Veolia, Valeo, Schneider Electric, Safran, Akka, Alten, Air France, CorsairFly, Safran. These types of jobs are also available in subcontracting IT services companies.
