International students: applying for a Masters degree

Are you a foreign student who would like to apply for a Master’s at Université Paris-Saclay? Want to know how to apply to a French university for the first time? It depends on your nationality, your country of residence and the studies you choose.

This section explains the French education system and all the application procedures that vary depending on your situation.

‘Differentiated tuition fees’ for non-EU students

In line with the resolution voted by the Board of Governors on 15 December 2020, Université Paris-Saclay intends to develop a strong policy of attracting national, European and non-EU students.

As a result, for the year 2022-2023, accepted candidates affected by the decree and order relating to registration fees in public higher education establishments under the authority of the Minister in charge of higher education will have to pay the same amount of registration fees as national students without having to explicitly request it.

This partial exemption will apply for the entire duration of the study cycle, including if a year has to be repeated.

IMPORTANT

Applicants of foreign nationality who have not been enrolled in a higher education institution in France during the last two academic years (2020-2021 and 2021-2022) must provide the contact details of two people who can recommend them academically (teacher, supervisor, work placement supervisor, etc.) when they apply.

Additional information

  1. You must apply on the Université Paris Saclay application platform.
  2. After receiving approval for admission from Université Paris-Saclay, you can create your account on the Études en France portal. You should complete your file under the ‘I am accepted’ section.

If you are a refugee, a stateless person, an asylum seeker or a beneficiary of subsidiary protection and you wish to join a Master's programme at the University of Paris-Saclay, then you can apply in the same way as other candidates on our platform:

You are invited to contact the Registrar’s Office to find out the best way to apply. You will need to provide proof of your status in order for your application to be considered.

The Registrar Offices: To obtain the contact details of the Registrar’s Office, you can go to the website of the partner institution by using the tab at the top right ‘other University sites’ or contact the Department of Training and Success (DFR): ‘formation.scolarite@universite-paris-saclay.fr".

In all cases, you must specify that you have refugee status and you must indicate which course(s) you wish to apply for.

Applicants from abroad must first have completed one year of studies in France as part of an initial training programme before being able to sign a work-study programme agreement (except for students wishing to enrol in a Master's level programme or a level I diploma accredited by the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles).
