Présentation
Objectives

The human rights and business study path aims to train top specialists in the international protection of human rights applicable to businesses. The programme includes theoretical and practical teaching (particularly as part of the law clinic and during the internship) intended to provide the students with comprehensive training. This dual approach enables students to aim either for quick entry into working life or further studies at doctoral level, since they will graduate with the required theoretical knowledge and research methodology.

The preferred M1 for this study path is the Master in International and European law - general (human rights or public-private). If the prerequisites are met, students may also be accepted upon completing the International and European public law - business M1 or other M1s from other disciplines, "Business law" in particular students.

Skills
  • Understand the sources of law in their international and European context.

  • Advise stakeholders operating in an international and European environment.

  • Write specialist legal documents and keep abreast of legal developments.

  • Develop and argue a critical analysis.

  • Lead group and individual work, and supervise a team.

Career prospects

At the end of the Master in Human Rights and Businesses, students have acquired skills that enable them to work for the various actors operating in this field: multinational companies, international institutions, national institutions for the protection of human rights, NGOs (non-governmental organisations). They may also work for specialised law firms. Since students must write a research thesis as part of this course, it paves the way to a doctoral thesis upon graduation.
