Pasqal on quantum technologies

Pasqal is a company created in 2019, born from the research laboratory of the Institut d’Optique Graduate School.

It relies on a unique technology, the result of 20 years of research, to commercialize quantum processors. These processors are intended to work as co-processors for high-performance computers. They will implement Quantum Machine Learning algorithms, accessible in the short term, to solve combinatorial optimisation problems. Fields of application are vast, from the optimisation of an investment portfolio for a bank to the production and distribution of energy. These methods also apply to quantum chemistry, for the study of interactions between enzymes and ligands or for the discovery of new drugs.

Pasqal collaborates with EDF to optimise the recharging of a fleet of electric vehicles, and also with the Institut d’Optique Graduate School for hardware development.
