First Paris-Saclay Munich summer school on Surface Plasmons (PSM-SP)

Research Article published on 09 July 2021 , Updated on 15 July 2021

The first School on Surface Plasmons organized by the Paris-Saclay Institute for the Sciences of Light in collaboration with the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich is a unique opportunity for PhD students and post docs to meet leading experts of the community. It offers a blend of tutorials and discussions of current challenges and applications. PSM-SP 2021 will be held on the Paris-Saclay University campus from July 12th until July 16th.

Nanophotonics has revolutionized optics by confining light at the nanoscale. It has led to superresolution imaging, enhanced light-matter interaction, nonlinear effects with few photons, extremely compact devices. Surface plasmons offers an outstanding platform to confine electromagnetic fields at the nanoscale. The fundamentals of surface plasmons, quantum plasmonics, topological nanophotonics and imaging with electrons will be covered. Applications to spectroscopy, biosensing and nonlinear optics will be presented.

For most of us, the school will be the first scientific event in person after the pandemic.
We are very happy to welcome young PhD students.
Unfortunately, we could not accept all the applications.
