L'école doctorale

The Doctoral School ABIES is a thematic Doctoral School involving the following fields of research :

  • Agronomic and environmental sciences, landscaping techniques and sciences (38% of the doctoral candidates),
  • Food processing sciences (13%),
  • Life sciences and health, plant and animal sciences (30%),
  • Economic, social and management sciences applied to agriculture, food and the environment (14%),
  • Engineering sciences applied to living matter and the environment (5%).

ABIES is co-accredited by Université Paris-Saclay, AgroParisTech, Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire d'Alfort (ENVA), Paris-Est Sup, and Université Reims Champagne-Ardenne. INERIS is an associated institution.

Concours ABIES 2020

Appliance for ABIES competition to get a doctoral contract is open until May 15th 2020.

  • Please find here the subjects 
  • Candidates can apply by sending to the thesis supervisor
    - their CV,
    - master marks,
    - recommendation letters,
    - and a motivation letter in ABIES format (see with the link for the subjects).

The thesis supervisor will select the candidate with the best profile for his subject.
Oral presentations will take place from June 8th to June 11th at AgroParisTech, 19 avenue du Maine 75015 PARIS.

The last survey on employment three years after the defense was performed in 2019. We got the information for 99% of the doctors. 2% are looking for a job.

31% work as academic teachers/researchers, 16% work in the public sector, 35% in the private sector, 14% have a post-doctoral position (half have this position abroad).
