Training programs of the GS LSH

The GS LSH carries an integrative vision of the Life Sciences from the understanding of molecular mechanisms governing how biological systems work and interact, to their integration at all scales, from molecules to cells, organisms and populations, including evolutionary, pathophysiological and biotechnological dimensions. Thus, this GS brings together laboratories and teaching around the study of basic mechanisms using models that reflect the biodiversity of living organisms, applying this knowledge to human and animal health and biotechnology.

Each year, we graduate more than 1000 Master's students and 500 PhD students. Our masters, Live Science and Health, Bioinformatics and Vision Sciences, offer more than 25 programmes of M2. This is one of the most complete and well-known offers in France in these fields.

We train students in and through research to meet societal issues and new scientific, biomedical and technological challenges. For example, we offer several training programs for the development of biotherapies in oncology, development, cell biology, neuroscience and endocrinology.

We also train the younger generation in genetics-genomics and bioinformatics. At this level, GS accompanies the deployment of artificial intelligence and data sciences in Life Sciences and Health. Some of our students focus in infectiology, microbiology and immunology, which are support disciplines for dealing with epidemics and better understanding the host-microbiota interaction.

Finally, we also offer cutting-edge training in synthetic biology and biotechnology to design living systems for the well-being and sustainable development of our societies. With more than 9 master programs entirely in English, we have a large international offer.

Altogether, we largely cover the Bac+5 and Bac+8 job opportunities in Research, Research & Development, Medicine and Data Analysis, with possible links to specific fields such as quality control, management, marketing, scientific communication or even teaching professions.
