Social Science Research Days (December 14-15, 2023)

The next ocial Science Research Days will be held on the Agro Paris-Saclay Campus on December 14 and 15, 2023. It is a national and international francophone event, organized under the aegis of the French Society of Rural Economy (SFER), CIRAD and INRAE for the past 16 years.

These JRSS 2023 days are an important gathering of the French-speaking scientific community in economics, humanities and social sciences, working in the fields of agriculture, fisheries, forests, food, environment and territorial development.

The organization on the new Agro Paris-Saclay campus seems to us to be a great opportunity to federate the teams involved in the organization on a common project and, more broadly, to promote exchanges between multiple partners during the two-day seminar.

Traditionally, the days include plenary presentations, workshops in small groups organized in parallel, and even one or two round table(s). The sessions are based on the presentation of papers selected by the scientific committee. The participants come from different disciplines: a majority of economists, sociologists, political scientists, some geographers and lawyers. There are more than a hundred papers and nearly 200 participants over two days. The public is composed of researchers, doctoral students, but also agricultural professionals (farmers, representatives of associations, unions, chambers of agriculture, ministries). These days allow an exchange with a crossed glance on the works in progress.

- Coordinators: Nathalie Delame (Paris-Saclay Applied Economics laboratory) and Armelle Mazé (SADAPT laboratory). This year, the local organizing committee is composed mainly of members of these two laboratories which are leading the 2023 edition (SADAPT and PSAE) as well as the scientific direction of AgroParisTech which supports the event.

- Graduate Schools of Paris-Saclay University involved: BIOSPHERA, Socio & Science Po and Economics & Management
