Call to lead a workshop at meeting between researchers and local players on December 12, 2023

C-BASC is launching a Call for university staff to lead a workshop on a theme of their choice at annual Meeting between researchers and local players on December 12, 2023 (deadline October 19). The aim of these small workshops is to initiate a process of co-designing projects in favor of the (agro)ecological transition of a large area around the university. The event is organized by the VivAgriLab living lab, made up of research and teaching organizations, local authorities and associations, the Ile-de-France Chamber of Agriculture...

 

Save the date: Local actors and researchers meeting on December 12, 2023

The annual meeting between researchers and local players will take place on December 12, 2023. This day is organized by the VivAgriLab living lab, created in 2019 to bring together research and teaching organizations and other local players. It is open to Université Paris-Saclay staff, local players and partners. Registration is now open.

Change in C-BASC coordination team

Gwenola Yannou-Le Bris (Sayfood laboratory) succeeds Maia David (PSAE) on the C-BASC coordination team. Gwenola is a university professor in sustainable innovation management at AgroParisTech and a researcher in the SayFood unit. Find out more about C-BASC governance.

The C-BASC Steering Committee has approved 2 half-thesis grants and 3 other projects as part of the 2023 general call. They will be described shortly in the research projects section.

April / May 2023

Launch of a General Call for projects 2023

On April 28, the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies on Biodiversity, Agroecology, Society and Climate launched a Call for Research, Innovation and Training Projects 2023. The call for proposals is open until June 19, and includes under certain conditions half-grants for theses.

February / March 2023

Possibility of submitting a small application at any time

In order to encourage small-scale initiatives, C-BASC offers researchers the possibility of submitting a request of up to 3k at any time. The Steering Committee will assess the relevance of requests to C-BASC's objectives, within the limits of the available budget. To find out more, visit our Calls page.

November 2022

Meeting between researchers and local stakeholders on December 6: registration now open

The program and registration link for the annual meeting between researchers and local players, to be held on the afternoon of December 6 at INRAE Versailles, are now available. Open to all, participation is free with compulsory registration. This event is organized by the VivAgriLab living lab, which aims to encourage the emergence of action research projects in favor of (agro)ecological transition, over a wide area in the south-west of Paris.

October 2022

Launch of a call for expression of interest

C-BASC will launch around October 10th call for expression of interest within the scientific community, to lead a project co-design workshop with local actors on a theme of your choice that is part of the ecological and agroecological transition (+-45 minutes). These workshops will take place during the annual meeting between researchers and local actors on December 6, 2022. The event is organized within the framework of the ViVagriLab Living Lab, which aims to develop applied research projects on the territory of 3 agglomeration communities and 3 associations leading an agri-urban program.

Interdisciplinary animation

At the beginning of the school year, the C-BASC Steering Committee made two decisions in terms of scientific animation:

  • the upcoming launch of regular thematic lunches, to forge links within the C-BASC community -composed of 15 laboratories and 5 Graduate Schools of the university newly installed on the plateau-, in order to develop new collaborations. 
  • organize the 1st scientific day of the community in early 2023

The C-BASC Steering Committee has approved 7 research and innovation projects under the 2022 call for projects

Partnership with Silicon Valley

A delegation of Californian decision-makers and researchers came to visit from July 11 to 15, to discuss innovative solutions that enhance biodiversity and climate resilience for communities adjacent to natural and agricultural landscapes. A public conference was held on July 12.

Co-construction day with local actors

An annual meeting between local actors and researchers took place within the framework of the Living Lab Vivagrilab, in order to bring out applied research projects for the (agro)ecological transition of the territory around the university. 

 

 

 

Agroecology Network Day

The Interdisciplinary Network of Researchers in Agroecology organized its Annual day open to all. Two themes punctuated the meeting.

 

 

 

 

December 2021

Launch of the first calls 

C-BASC launched 3 calls in mid-December for wide dissemination: (i) a Call for research, innovation and training projects (ii) a Call for research and innovation projects in the framework of the Living Lab and (iii) a Call for expression of interest (AMI) to lead a co-design workshop during the annual Living Lab day on February 17, 2022.

September 2021

1st Steering Committee 

At its first meeting, the C-BASC Steering Committee decided to allocate the majority of the budget to emergence projects (i.e. innovative, structuring projects of modest amount with an expected leverage effect). The Steering Committee is the decision-making body, composed of the directors of the 15 C-BASC laboratories.

Launch Conference 

C-BASC organized a conference on the occasion of its launch. The presentatinos emphasized some innovative aspects of C-BASC compared to the previous project (LabEx BASC): (i) participation in a multi-actor platform for the (agro)ecological transition of a territory around the university (Living Lab); (ii) consideration of food systems from production to consumption; (iii) training proposals.
