To international students currently on the campus of Université Paris-Saclay

Dear students,

Following the French President’s address of Monday March 16th declaring confinement is enforced for 2 weeks at least, everybody must stay at home except if they have to buy food, medicines, go to the doctor’s or the chemist’s – these only  if absolutely necessary : you will need to print and sign the official form
downloadable here :

to be allowed to go out. If you cannot print it, you must copy the whole text  and sign it.

Université Paris-Saclay has decided to lockdown all its sites as of today. Please find below the latest decisions and advice for international students currently on campus.

1/ You are first of all advised to consult your embassy website or to  get in contact with your embassy in order to know which instructions are given by your government as well, and to get in contact with your home institution

2/ If you wish to go back home, you must make the decision quickly and check transportation opportunities (by plane or train). You must inform your local international office or contact at UPSaclay of your departure (means of transportation, plane or train, date and time). Please, do keep your tickets as your home university might implement financial support we do not know about.

3/ If you decide to remain in France, please let your local international office or contact at UPSaclay  know and give the following information :a/ where you are at the moment (which student hall, flat-sharing accommodation, at friends’, etc.), b/ give  your mobile telephone number so that we may quickly contact you if necessary.

4/ In any case, even if you are confined, do not remain isolated : contact relatives and friends (by mail, telephone, or skype or your favourite social networks and applications), in France or abroad. Stay in touch with your course director, your contact at the International Office of your faculty or institution.

If you are facing financial hardship or isolation, a remote service is also available thanks to CROUS welfare officers : service-social.paris-saclay@crous-versailles.fr (Do not forget to give your telephone number)
Do not hesitate to contact or systematically put the university main International Office  in copy of your messages (incoming-exchange.international@universite-paris-saclay.fr)

5/Food : All university restaurants, canteens and cafeterias run by CROUS are closed as of today.
Make sure to shop for food at the local stores remaining open and remember to always hold the offical form duly completed.
Foodtrucks will be available in the following areas : the Moulon and Polytechnique districts (for more information: twitter & facebook (@ParisSaclay).
Remember goods can be delivered at home via EFIESTER (or any other platform) : https://www.efiester.com/d/etudiants (delivery on Thursdays to  the Moulon district student halls, on Tuesdays to the Vallée and Palaiseau districts).

6/ Transports (buses) :
Bus lines are running but less frequently, on the Orsay- Gif - Bures campus and from –to RER train stations (schedules have changed or sometimes switched to summer schedules)
