"I eat for the future" (season 2)

The need to change our food practices towards more sustainable diets, modes of production and supply with low environmental impact, is now a consensus.

In order to respond to this major scientific and societal issue, we wish to set up a large-scale awareness-raising action to concretely accompany citizens, and more particularly young adults (18-35 years old), in understanding and adopting a sustainable diet on a daily basis. This project is a continuation of an awareness program: "I eat for the future", whose season 1, broadcast on Instagram in 2021, has already mobilized 12,600 subscribers present throughout the territory, and counted 2.2 million views and 53 press coverage. In this second part, we will tackle new themes such as the different modes of production and supply with regard to more sustainable food systems, and we will deepen the subjects treated (e.g.: tips for a sustainable kitchen). In a unique co-construction approach, we will federate an interdisciplinary network of experts from the University of Paris-Saclay (C-BASC and external laboratories1) and recognized on the subjects of sustainable food, nutrition, agronomy, economics, environmental sciences, food history, and information and communication sciences.

On the other hand, actors of the food industry (ANCA chair patrons) and chefs (partnership with the Ferrandi school) will also bring their expertise and know-how on the subject. We will call upon our network of creative people (scriptwriter, journalist/reporter, illustrator) to propose a new kind of media, to allow a playful and immersive experience. This project will be part of the action-research approach and will include a phase of reflection and co-construction with citizens in order to identify levers to effectively accompany the transition to more sustainable practices. Our objective is to develop a relevant program that truly responds to the expectations and questions of the population.
