M1 Politiques sociales territoriales-Economie sociale et solidaire
A course (M1 and M2 level) in sociology at Paris-Saclay University's Master's program offering specialized training in the design, implementation, and evaluation of regional public policy. Course objectives:
To train students in the analysis of employment, education, and housing issues at the national level and in the analysis of local public policies.
Become experts in sociological analysis and intervention methodologies (project management and evaluation, territorial diagnostics, surveys, etc.).
Produire des données : maîtrise des techniques d’enquêtes, quantitatives et qualitatives, sur une question démographique ou sociologique, adaptation de bases de données diverses.
The program is organized around a core curriculum in the first semester and specialized courses in the second semester. A two-month internship takes place between January and February. It culminates in the writing of a research thesis.

Formateur en insertion professionnelle Le parcours-type étant aussi un parcours recherche, les étudiants qui s'inscrivent dans cette voie à travers les options qui leur sont offertes à cet effet sont susceptibles de réaliser une thèse dans les domaines (au sens large) de la sociologie des politiques sociales et de l'action publique territoriale, des populations concernées par les politiques sociales, sociologie des associations et de l'intervention sociale dans le cadre du laboratoire Printemps ou dans tout autre laboratoire de sciences sociales. Ces étudiants pourront être amenés à candidater à des contrats doctoraux ou à des bourses CIFRE.
Admission to the M1 PST requires training that meets the program's expectations in terms of knowledge and practice of the social sciences in general, and sociology in particular. Each of the two years involves carrying out a group project based on an institutional commission and writing a thesis based on internship experience. These two key components require skills acquired through the practice of social sciences, namely: -a good theoretical understanding of the essential concepts of general sociology -experience in conducting research using both qualitative and quantitative methods (in particular, the ability to read and interpret descriptive statistics) -writing skills -the ability to develop a problem and structure reasoning by formulating hypotheses. Beyond the social sciences, an interest in the topics covered by the Master's program is essential. These topics are broad and touch on many issues, whether or not they are covered by public policy. This requires intellectual curiosity, which can be maintained by regularly following political, economic, and social news. A good knowledge of institutions, associations, and local authorities will also be highly appreciated.

En M1, sur 18 inscrits en 2018 :
-La moitié est issu de l’UVSQ (essentiellement en sociologie et en Aes).
-L’autre moitié est issu de cursus de SHS ou Droit, économie, gestion (AES) dans des universités parisiennes (Nanterre, Paris 8, Paris 5, Paris 12 et UPEM).
-Tous sont en formation initiale
En M2, du fait de la mise en œuvre de la sélection à l’entrée en Master depuis 2017, on observe une continuité avec la promotion de M1 admise l’an dernier. Le partenariat, mis en place avec l’IEP de St Germain en Laye, a permis à 3 étudiantes diplômées de s’inscrire en 2018-19. En outre, les dispositifs de VAPP et de contrats de professionnalisation permettent à des personnes en reprise d'études de suivre le M2 dans le cadre de la formation continue.
