Project calls of the Institute for the Sciences of Light (ISL)
The mission of the Institute for the Sciences of Light (ISL) at the University of Paris-Saclay is to support research projects related to light and its applications, on themes that cut across the Graduate Schools. The ISL is also involved in supporting the organisation of scientific events (seminars, workshops, conferences, scientific days, schools, etc.).
Below are descriptions of recent calls for projects funded by ISL.
Acknowledgements
Acknowledgements to be included in communication actions and written publications:

Call for the « Coup de pouce et Déblocages » 2026 projects
ISL is launching a call for projects entitled 'Coup de pouce et Déblocages' for 2026, which is intended to support projects that enable the removal of identified bottlenecks.
Projects will be evaluated in 3 waves (see framework).
The deadline for submission for:
- the first wave 27 February 2026 at 1pm (Paris time).
- the second wave May 29, 2026 at 1 p.m. (Paris time)
- the third wave October 2, 2026 at 1 p.m. (Paris time)

Call for the « Research Seminars » 2026 projects
In collaboration with the Physics of Waves and Matter (PhOM) research group within the Physics Graduate School, the ISL is issuing a joint call for proposals to organise scientific events (workshops, conferences, scientific days, summer schools, etc.) in 2026
Projects will be evaluated in 3 waves (see framework).
The deadline for submission for:
- the first wave ➡️ 27 February 2026 at 1pm (Paris time).
- the second wave ➡️ May 29, 2026 at 1 p.m. (Paris time)
- the third wave ➡️ October 2, 2026 at 1 p.m. (Paris time)

Laureates of 2026 "Equipement recherche” Call for Projects
The 2026 “Equipement recherche” Call for Projects
Five projects have been awarded funding through the third edition of the “Research Equipment” call for projects. ISL placed particular emphasis on projects related to light and its applications, with a focus on cross-disciplinary research themes spanning the Graduate Schools of Université Paris-Saclay.
- “Advanced Spectroscopy of Transport and Solvation Processes in Aqueous Batteries” – BATT-H2O, led by Wutharath CHIN (LuMIn), in collaboration with Alan WONG and Rodolphe POLLET (NIMBE, CEA): €40,000
- “Depth-Resolved Perfusion Measurement Using Multichannel DCS” – DeepDCS, led by Frédéric PAIN (LCF), in collaboration with Laurent MENARD (IJCLab): €17,600
- “Nanospectroscopy Visible for Complex Objects” – NanoVisCO, led by Jérémie MATHURIN (ICP), in collaboration with Mathieu THOURY (IPANEMA): €40,000
- “Halide Perovskite Nanoparticles Under Pressure” – PEROPRESS, led by Cédric MAYER and Emmanuelle DELEPORTE (LuMIn), in collaboration with Olivier PLANTEVIN and Victor BALEDENT (LPS): €24,000
- “Cold Plasmas for Green Chemistry: From Sterilisation to the Origins of Life” – PlasChiVerSOVie, led by Joao SANTOS SOUSA (LPGP), in collaboration with Caroline AYMES-CHODUR (ICMMO) and Antoine PALLANDRE (ICP): €40,000

Call for the « Équipement - Recherche » 2026 projects (closed)
We are pleased to announce the launch of the 2026 ‘Equipment – Research’ call for proposals from the Institute of Light Sciences (ISL) at Paris-Saclay University.
The aim of this call is to support research projects related to light and its applications, by encouraging collaboration between at least two laboratories affiliated with the ISL.
Funding of up to €50,000 will be awarded to cover equipment and running costs.
