The European University Alliance for Global Health meets in Szeged

The teams of the European University Alliance for Global Health (EUGLOH), laureate of the 1st pilot call for European Universities launched by the European Commission, met on January 16 and 17, 2020 at the University of Szeged in Hungary.

The two-day meetings began with a launching conference at the national level with a presentation of the European University EUGLOH by Sandrine Lacombe (EUGLOH Coordinator – Université Paris-Saclay), Márta Széll and Csóka Ildikó (University of Szeged), Jean Schleiss (LMU Munich), and in the presence of Erik Renström (Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lund - Sweden) and László Rovo (Rector of the University of Szeged).

Following the conference, staff and students from the five universities involved in EUGLOH met, over the two days, for several thematic working sessions, which provided the framework for discussions around research, innovation, campus life, academics, and communication, towards the development of joint actions.

Next meeting: the Annual Summit of the European University Alliance for Global Health in Porto, in March 2020.

Focused on the theme of "Global Health", this European University will cover a wide range of societal issues such as the medicine of the future, the impact of climate change, or digital and technology at the service of health and well-being. In order to achieve its objectives, and in particular to reach at least 50% student mobility within the European University EUGLOH by 2025, the European University Alliance for Global Health (EUGLOH) aims to be innovative, interdisciplinary and integrated into the research and innovation ecosystems present in the territories of the 5 universities.
