The start of the academic year is an exciting and busy time for students on the campuses of Université Paris-Saclay. A wide range of activities are organised from August to September, including the Welcome Day, campus tours, start of the year induction presentations…

The university organises numerous events to ensure that the start of the year goes as smoothly as possible for its students and that they can embark on their studies with peace of mind. You will find information about the various support initiatives on offer in the interactive student guide.

Discover the university’s Language Centre

On Thursday 4 September 2025 from 11am-6.30pm, the Centre de Langues (Terrasse des langues, 3rd floor of the Eiffel Building, CentraleSupélec) will be organising an Open Day.

The event is being held in conjunction with the university’s Arrival Days for international students, which will be taking place at the same time at the parc du Moulon (4 rue Joliot Curie, 91190 Gif-sur-Yvette).

Throughout the day, the centre’s staff will be available to provide information about the language learning and intercultural training opportunities that the university offers:

  • Modern languages (LV2), French as a Foreign Language (FLE) and specific English
  • Language certifications (TOEIC, Linguaskills, IELTS)
  • The English debating club
  • International student conversation workshops and language exchanges
  • Erasmus mobility opportunities for staff and students
  • EUGLOH projects
  • Intercultural activities
  • Language training for staff provided by the university’s staff training institute.

Fun language activities will take place throughout the day, and Elisabeth Dufour Gergam, Vice President for Careers of the Future at Université Paris-Saclay, will give an official speech at 4pm. The speech will be followed by a toast of champagne and fruit juice, and a buffet (drinks and canapés) will be available for visitors throughout the event.

The Prevent Week

The Prevent'Week is the university’s annual health festival. It is a free event and takes place on the university’s four campuses. It aims to raise awareness about student health in a fun and interactive way. The event is organised around different areas, with stands dedicated to various health prevention issues: sexual health, mental health, physical activity, prevention of risks in party environments, etc.
