Natural enemies of insects (conference 10-12 July 2023)

The EGCE laboratory (IRD, CNRS, Université Paris Saclay) and AgroParisTech are organizing the 43rd edition of the Entomophagists' Days on the CNRS Campus of Gif-sur-Yvette from July 10 to 12, 2023. These days are structured in 5 half-days, including conferences of several renowned guests.

Created in 1970 under the title "Prey-predator and host-parasitoid meetings", the annual Entomophagists' Days gather actors from the academic world and some French-speaking companies and associations interested in entomophagous organisms (i.e. natural enemies of insects) and their use in the control of crop pests. These studies feed developments in agro-ecology and facilitate exchanges between scientists and entrepreneurs, for example for the commercial production of biocontrol organisms.

Each edition is an opportunity to open up to a wider diversity of insect "consumer" organisms. The communities of researchers are quite large, as the study of entomophagous organisms is interdisciplinary, ranging from fundamental ecology, insect physiology, population genetics, landscape ecology to agro-ecology with field studies or the production of biocontrol organisms in companies.
