Skills

Acquire an aptitude for sociological reasoning.

Objectives

The master's program in sociology at Paris-Saclay University groups all sociology programs of Paris-Saclay's partners based on common educational objectives: teaching the fundamental concepts and paradigms of sociology, learning the different survey methods, developing a critical and reflective attitude, writing a master's dissertation, and professional or research internships. The objective of this program is to prepare students to write a thesis in quantitative or demographic sociology or to begin working after their master's degree managing socio-economic studies, or head of a mission, or statistician. To do this, they will acquire the technical skills needed to collect, process and analyse quantitative data as well as the reflective ability to apply reasoning and a heuristic approach to social sciences. The dissertations developed over the 2-year program as well as the internships during their M2 will greatly contribute to their career development either by working in a team or a research unit or by working in a company (design office, consulting firm, in the department responsible for studies and statistics in an administrative or government office, etc.).
