The Master’s program Narration, Translation and New Media (NTNM), offered under the “Literature and Languages” track, is a trilingual program (French, English, and either German or Spanish). Its mission is to train students in fields related to specialized translation and interpreting (audiovisual, video game, scientific, etc.), the creation of multilingual multimedia content and corporate communication.
This Master’s program offers a unique combination of specialized translation and multimedia content creation, within a trilingual framework (French, English, Spanish/German). It prepares students for translation in the field of new media while also training them in the production of multilingual multimedia content, in line with the latest developments in the digital world.

Skills
During the program, students develop a wide range of skills in specialized translation (technical, scientific and economic), including mastering translation methods and processes, project management, glossary development, revision and both consecutive and simultaneous interpreting. They also gain expertise in audiovisual translation, such as subtitling standards, trilingual transcription, scriptwriting and film production (short films, interviews, YouTube videos), while becoming familiar with editing software and audiovisual law in France, Europe and the United States. In addition, the program trains students in localization and digital content creation, equipping them with strong digital literacy in emerging technologies (new media, transmedia storytelling), the production and translation of digital content (localization, web creation, hypertext writing, interactive fiction) and the ability to optimize AI instruction protocols (prompting).

This program aims to equip students with the skills required to enter careers in audiovisual translation (subtitling, dubbing, voice-over) and specialized translation (scientific, economic, legal), as well as related fields such as interpreting and localization (video games, websites). It also prepares them for the evolving professions of the digital age, particularly the creation of multilingual content for digital communication.

Target Audience and Entry Requirements
Students must be at least trilingual, with advanced proficiency in French (minimum C1), English (minimum C1), and either Spanish or German (minimum B2). Proof of language proficiency is required from candidates for each language. For non-native speakers, this may include: DELF/DALF for French (C1 minimum); TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS or equivalent for English (C1 minimum); DELE or equivalent for Spanish (B2 minimum); and Goethe-Zertifikat, TestDaF, or telc Deutsch for German (B2 minimum).
In the absence of an official certification, other forms of proof may also be accepted: evidence of native-speaker status, a university degree in which one of the required languages was the main language of instruction, or a language proficiency statement signed by a language instructor (either the candidate’s teacher or following an ad hoc interview). However, official certification remains strongly preferred.
Intermediate-level digital skills are also valued.
