Working in the Space market is "not rocket science": develop your skills in innovative satellite design over a 1-year program to enter the Space Ecosystem! Discover the "Master 2 Newspace" program at Paris Saclay University.

Working in the Space market is "not rocket science": develop your skills in innovative satellite design over a 1-year program to enter the Space Ecosystem! Discover the "Master 2 Newspace" program at Paris Saclay University.

Develop in just 1 year cross-disciplinary skills in space mission, instrument and satellite design within a cutting-edge training program based on pedagogical innovation (serious games, inverted classroom, multiple application modules), learning by doing (hands-on labs, field-trips) and by projects (2 "project" teaching units), and the link to research (Applied Research Thesis).

Présentation

Skills

Accurately distinguish the different phases, stages, stakeholders, and challenges of a space mission within the framework of a scientific instrumental mission.

Design a space mission across all departments (payload, satellite platform, orbital mechanics, telecommunications, phases, projects, budgets, data analysis).

Design, manipulate, and pilot satellite subsystems during integration and qualification phases (AIT/AIV).

Develop complex project skills (technically complex projects, large teams, long duration, parallel projects) specifically in the space ecosystem.

Objectives

This programme stems from the STePE (Earth and Planetary Science, Environment) global Masters Programme. It aims to provide knowledge of the entire design process of a satellite, from the payload concept to the exploitation of data during flight in order to meet market demands and new professions linked to emerging applications (satellite miniaturization, Cubesats, satellite fleets, drones, etc.). This Masters programme is therefore strongly oriented towards the quality of observation and data by providing a better understanding of the emergence of instrumental concepts, AIT/AIV approaches (integration and testing), data analysis and validation of final products. It integrates phases of practical examples in the form of team projects tutored on concrete cases (Learning by doing), several serious games, and an internship in a company or laboratory. This training aims to meet the needs of the private sector and Space public research laboratories but can also lead to PhDs, ideally within the framework of CIFRE scholarships (public/private funding) due to the significant needs concerning innovation in this sector.
