The Physics for Environmental Remediation, Impact Measurement and Risk Assessment course aims to train students who wish to pursue careers in the environment and climate sectors, with a particular focus on monitoring and preserving natural and anthropised environments.

  • Master and apply in-depth specialist knowledge of climate and environmental sciences.
  • Use methodological, technical and practical skills to solve problems in climate and environmental sciences.
  • Conceptualise, structure and lead a project in climate and environmental sciences and conduct a critical analysis of the results.
  • Learn and act independently.
  • Work in a team and collaborate to achieve common goals.
  • Synthesise and communicate effectively in French and English in a manner appropriate to the target audience.

Objectives

Students will take courses focused on physics, chemistry and earth sciences related to the environment and climate, or the main mechanisms operating in these areas. To achieve this objective, the courses will focus on:

  • Fundamental knowledge in the field of the environment, giving students an overview of environmental and climate issues
  • Specialised knowledge in the monitoring and preservation of natural and anthropogenic environments
  • Major study methodologies used in these scientific fields
  • Immersion in a professional environment

Target Audience and Entry Requirements

Students eligible for this programme must have a bachelor's degree in Physics, Chemistry, Earth Sciences or equivalent. Students from general engineering schools or schools related to environmental sciences may also enrol in the M1 Physics for Environmental Remediation, Impact Measurement and Risk Assessment programme.
