The Master's programme in Design Research allows students to undertake 3 month internships in local, national and international research laboratories, including: the Centre for Design Research, i3 UMR CNRS, Centre Borelli, SATIE laboratory, PROJEKT laboratory, University of Liège (BE), Umea University, Textile Lab-Tilburg, Tufts University (USA), among others. In addition to introducing students to research, these internships help to strengthen key partnerships.
The DER Design programme covers the entire spectrum of design professions: textile design, fashion design, graphic and digital design, spatial and environmental design, product design, sound and interaction design, with a strong focus on speculative design research. This unique approach allows students to pursue a wide range of career paths: design studios, R&D, research and teaching in design and crafts, or research.

Objectives
The goal of the Master’s degree “Research in Design” is to prompt students to question contemporary life forms through projects and research in design. The goal of the second year is to continue the training in design research with an emphasis on research tools and practice for which each student will develop a personal focus.

- normaliens ayant validé une première année de l'ENS Paris-Saclay,
- ou étudiants formés en écoles d'arts appliqués du ministère de l'éducation nationale ou en école d'art et de design du ministère de la culture disposant d'un niveau au moins équivalent M1
- ou étudiants en formation de niveau première année de master en design ou aux autres disciplines de création/conception.
