The Université Paris-Saclay New Year’s reception ceremony

Université Paris-Saclay’s official New Year’s reception ceremony took place on Thursday 18 January 2024 at the Lumen, the university’s learning centre, which was inaugurated on the same day.

As part of the ceremony, Estelle Iacona, President of Université Paris-Saclay, invited the following members of the university’s community to say a few words, all of who have made significant contributions to the university in 2023:

  • Sarah Cohen Boulakia, Deputy Head of DATAIA, Professor at Université Paris-Saclay and researcher in bioinformatics at the Interdisciplinary Computer Science Laboratory (LISN - CNRS/Université Paris-Saclay)
  • Mélanie Decaille, 3rd year Bachelor’s degree student in Mathematics at the Faculty of Science, student ambassador for the CASA housing platform
  • Souheil Mansouri, 3rd year Bachelor’s degree student in Management at the Faculty of Law, Economics and Management, student ambassador for community life and associations
  • Roger Le Grand, Head of the Infectious Disease Models and Innovative Therapies Laboratory (Inserm/CEA/UPSaclay)
  • Essma Alem, project manager at the Maison du doctorat
  • Julien Duquesne, ENS Paris-Saclay graduate, co-founder of ScientaLab with Camille Bouget and Vincent Bouget in 2021
  • Slavka Kascakova, lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Medicine, Physiopathogenesis and Treatment of Liver Diseases Laboratory (Inserm/Univ. Paris-Saclay)
  • Charlotte Malle, student in the Science and Techniques of Sporting and Physical Activities
  • Goran Stanajic Petrovic, winner of the Audience Award of the 2023 regional final of the My Thesis in 180 seconds competition, Medicine and Technologies for Health Laboratory (Univ. Paris-Saclay/CEA/INRAE)

The ceremony was a special moment for all to celebrate the successes of the past year, look towards to the future and meet and share with the members of the university community.
