Jean-Pierre Mothet elected a member of the Society Sigma Xi

The American Scientific Research Honor Society, Sigma Xi, recently announced its new members, which include Jean-Pierre Mothet.

Jean-Pierre Mothet is a neurobiologist and CNRS research director at the Light, Materials and Interfaces Laboratory (Lumin – Univ. Paris-Saclay/ENS Paris-Saclay/CentraleSupélec/CNRS). He has been elected a member of the Society Sigma Xi in recognition of his research work, and in particular for his discovery of the role of D-serine in the brain, which has improved our understanding of numerous brain diseases and opened up new therapeutic possibilities.

Founded in 1886 at Cornell University, Sigma Xi: The Scientific Research Honor Society, is an international honour society for scientists and engineers, aimed at promoting scientific research. New members are elected by current members of the society on the basis of their research achievements or potential. The society has nearly 60,000 members around the world, as well as 200 Nobel Prize winners.
