The pedagogical objectives of the programme are:
- learning the concepts and the main paradigms of sociology,
- introducing students to the diversity of investigation methods (quality and quantity), from basics to the most advanced techniques,
- developing a critical and analytical mind,
- practicing disciplinary, cultural, linguistic and international openness.Contemporary Sociology is a broad high-level programme that also delves into specialty areas. For example: work, employment, training, corporate and business relations; public action – from local to supranational scales; production and mobilisation of the law; sciences and techniques; data sciences; environnemental issues.

A background in social sciences (sociology, anthropology, political sciences, history, economics, management, mathematics and informatics applied to social sciences, geography, language sciences, etc.). Students from other disciplines who show a proven motivation for this discipline and a specific study plan may be accepted.
