Objectives
The MIP Master's degree in Music, Performance, and Heritage (at UVSQ) trains professional performing musicians. It combines a university degree with high-level musical training. It has been run in partnership with the CRR-VGP since 2015 and, since 2018, with the ENMP (Alfred Cortot). The MIP Master's program gives students:
the ability to supervise musical projects
the keys to successful integration into the contemporary professional world (actors, structures, networks, etc.)
a historical and musicological perspective that is closely aligned with the current state of research.
Music classes (main discipline (instrument/voice), collective artistic practices, ensemble conducting, music analysis) are complemented by courses (at UVSQ) in research methods and courses on cultural professions and the law governing artistic professions. Modern language teaching (UVSQ) and pre-professional training (Cité de la Musique-Philharmonie de Paris and Théâtre de St-Quentin en Y. (national theater)). The program includes an internship (S2) and a personal artistic project from S1 to S4.
This master's degree provides in-depth knowledge of musical heritage (actors, structures, and professional distribution channels), introduces students to the workings of public and private cultural administrations, trains them to carry out a professional project, and improves their musical or vocal skills.
