This program trains students in mechanical design, advanced methods, and structural analysis (modeling and simulation). It includes spacializations in modeling engineering, mechanical systems design, and industrial design. Students also gain cross-disciplinary skills (communication, manahement, quality, law). Industry experts contribute to teaching, and projects foster individual initiative.
The program equips students with the ability to independently and rigorously formulate mechanical problems, from system and load modeling to boundary conditions and tailored solution strategies. They integrate theoretical and practical knowledge to derive governing equations and apply analytical, numerical, or experimental methods with justified choices and critical evaluation outcomes. Students also design and optimize innovative scientific or technological solutions relevant to research and development. In addition, the program strengthens clear and effective written and oral communication, project management, and teamwork, while fostering autonomy, responsibility, and initiative.
Information
Skills
- Formulate autonomously and unambiguously a mechanical problem to meet a given objective, from the modeling of the system studied to the modeling of constraints and boundary conditions, by proposing an associated resolution approach.
- Mobilize theoretical or practical concepts and knowledge in order to support the formulation of a problem.
- Implement problem-solving tools, analytical, numerical or experimental, at a mastery level (justified choice of tool, specific appropriation if necessary, and critical analysis of the results).
- Design and optimize an innovative scientific and/or technological solution for development or research (this may concern a product or an experimental protocol).
- To transmit in writing or orally in a clear, concise and educational manner scientifically argued, interpreted and discussed ideas with a view to their promotion and exploitation by the scientific community (professional or student).
- Lead an individual project in a team on an organizational level (coordination or steering of actions, project management, perspective, etc.) and relational level (teamwork, autonomy, responsibility, initiatives, etc.).
Objectives
This program trains students in mechanical design, advanced design methods, and structural calculations (modeling and simulation). This specialization is accompanied by training, at the sub-degree level, in the complementary fields of modeling and simulation engineering, mechanical systems design, and industrial design. In addition to fundamental scientific knowledge, knowledge that is cross-disciplinary to the engineering profession (communication, management, quality, corporate law, etc.) is also acquired. Part of this teaching is provided by industrial speakers. The teaching method leaves ample room for individual initiative during projects.
