M1 Biology-Health - Genetics, Molecular and Cellular Biology Platform (Versailles Site)
The Genetics, Molecular and Cellular Biology Platform offers a wide variety of teaching units dealing with the fundamentals of these disciplines as well as specialised applications. These teaching units may be entirely made up of practical work or alternate between lectures and tutorial classes. Guided analysis of scientific articles or lectures by specialised researchers may also be offered.
Thus, several teaching units deal with aspects of signalling and signal transduction, the concepts of genetics, epigenetics and genomes, and the regulation of gene expression. Some teaching units have a model organism approach, while some are more oriented towards human health. Others address applications such as transgenesis and biotherapies.
Through the acquisition of knowledge, learning methodologies and putting them into practice in the different teaching units, students will be able to build their profile and specialise. Their relevant choice of teaching units, with a specialisation in one or several themes, will allow them to apply for several options for their second year of Master degree.
Prepare students to work as researchers or research engineers in public and private organisations (large groups and start-ups), for any project based on molecular and cellular understanding and the use of living systems.
Train students to acquire the language, scientific culture, and level of critical thinking required to conduct and participate in multidisciplinary and innovative projects that involve aspects of molecular biology, cell biology and genomics.
For English-speaking international students: You may apply on the International track if you graduated with a Bachelor degree, major in Biology, or if you will graduate before Sept 1st of the academic year for which you apply.
