Objectives

The domain of man-machine interaction is attracting considerable attention in many areas of the software industry and in digital technologies in general. This Master's program prepares students for jobs in research, R&D, industry and consulting: interaction designer, user interface specialist, engineer, designer and project manager of interactive applications on various supports: desktop computer, web, mobile. These jobs exist in companies that specialize in interaction design and in numerous academic research teams that work in the area of man-machine interaction.

Course Prerequisites

The Human-Computer Interaction course provides students with the fundamental knowledge and techniques required to design, build and assess interactive human-machine systems adapted to the needs of their users. It trains specialists in the field of Human-Computer Interaction, paving the way to careers in the academic field as well as at industrial R&D centres or in cutting-edge industries. This course is taught entirely in English. Applicants must provide proof of their level of English for their file to be examined: results of a standardised test (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.), proof of studies carried out in English, etc.

Skills
  • Know and be able to explain the fundamental concepts belonging to the field of man-machine interaction.

  • Set up user-centric design methodologies.

  • Design, develop and evaluate interactive systems adapted to users' needs (mobile applications, WEB applications, multimodal interactions, data visualization, virtual and augmented reality systems, systems for users with specific needs, etc.). ).

  • Use qualitative and quantitative methodologies (Design of controlled experiments) to assess interactive systems.

Post-graduate profile

The profiles of students graduating from this programme are:
- Interaction designer
- Use interface specialist
- Engineer, designer and project manager of interactive applications on different media (desktop, web, mobile)

Career prospects

At the end of this study path, students will be able to start a doctoral programme at the STIC department of Université Paris-Saclay, either joining one of the university's research laboratories, or taking up a post in a company's R&D department
. M2 graduates can work for companies that develop innovative software, or start-ups, or join the R&D departments of companies such as Thalès, Orange, HP, IBM, Research, Yahoo, Google, etc.

Ce parcours-type est proposé en deux voies d'apprentissage :
