The Licence Double Diplôme Économie, Mathématiques (LDD EM) is a selective three-year bi-disciplinary program that develops strong skills in both economics and mathematics, with an introduction to research and a range of transversal and open courses. It prepares students for further studies in master’s programs, engineering or business schools, within a demanding and well-structured academic environment.
In Mathematics:
The Licence Double Diplôme Économie, Mathématiques is a three-year interdisciplinary program awarding both a national bachelor's degree and a university diploma, totaling 240 ECTS credits. It provides an enhanced curriculum to develop dual expertise in economics and mathematics, while introducing students to research and the connections between these two fields. The program also includes transversal courses in English, computer science, management, sports, and the arts.
The first two years, common to all students, help build a solid personal academic project. In the third year, the "Économie, Mathématiques" track deepens the dual expertise and initiates interdisciplinary research, while the "Mathématiques" track offers an advanced specialization in mathematics, equivalent to the first year of a master's-level program. Finally, a selective program in partnership with ENSAE Paris provides access to a different academic environment.
The Licence Double Diplôme Économie, Mathématiques aims to provide students with strong interdisciplinary skills in both economics and mathematics, including statistics and numerical methods. It also offers an introduction to research, along with a range of transversal and broadening courses (languages, management, computer science, personal academic and career planning, sports, and the arts).
The program leads to the award of a University Diploma in Economics and Mathematics (240 ECTS), which includes a national Bachelor's degree (180 ECTS) supplemented by 60 ECTS of additional coursework. The limited cohort size ensures close academic supervision by faculty members throughout the three years.
Thanks in particular to its focus on research, the program prepares students to pursue master's degrees in either discipline, as well as admission to selected engineering or business schools.
The Licence Double Diplôme Économie, Mathématiques is primarily intended for students entering the first year who have completed the French general baccalauréat with an excellent level in mathematics—ideally having taken the mathematics specialty, the advanced mathematics option (mathématiques expertes), and a second specialty in either Economics and Social Sciences (SES) or Computer Science (NSI). Candidates should be highly motivated to engage in a demanding and rigorous program and show a strong interest in both economic issues and mathematical theory, as well as in the interactions between the two disciplines.
International students with an equivalent academic profile are also encouraged to apply via Parcoursup.
Admission into the second or third year is possible for a limited number of external candidates with an excellent background in mathematics and, preferably, solid knowledge of economics or quantitative social sciences. Most students in the second and third years have progressed within the program after successfully completing the previous years.
