On 16 June 2023, the board at the Jean Monnet Faculty (Law, Economics, Management) of Université Paris-Saclay elected Charles Vautrot-Schwarz as the Faculty’s Dean during the first round of voting. He will take post on 1 September 2023, at the end of the term of the current Dean, Boris Bernabé, historian in law and French institutions.

A specialist in public law, Charles Vautrot-Schwarz has been a Professor at the Jean Monnet Faculty since 2013.

He is a member of the Institute for Studies in Public Law (IEDP), which he has managed with Benoît Blottin, a specialist in EU law, since 2018.

Concerned about the protection of the environment, he founded the Green Deal Observatory with his colleagues, Benoît Blottin and Laurent Fonbaustier, in 2021.

Among his most notable work, he oversaw the edition of the Culture juridique générale (General Legal Culture - LexisNexis, 2021), which compiles the contributions of over twenty colleagues from the Jean Monnet Faculty.
