Raid Wine

Raid Wine is a project created by three AgroParisTech students that aims to confront a locally defined notion of heritage, the terroir, with a more global current issue, climate change.

Today, winegrowers face significant challenges that have a direct impact on their activities. On the one hand, the globalisation of trade has led to increased competition, forcing winegrowers to constantly innovate and rethink their working methods, sometimes to the detriment of the product quality or even the environment. On the other hand, climate change and the extreme weather events it creates are disrupting the ecosystems by directly impacting the local climate. Faced with changing climatic conditions and economic contexts, winegrowers have no choice but to adapt in order to both be more resilient and continue to produce wines with the specificities for which they are renowned.

How do winegrowers deal with the constant changes in agronomy and economy for their work on the terroirs? How do they respond to the evolution of the terroirs induced by climate change?

Raid Wine is going to Latin America for 5 months to visit the different wine regions. The team will explore prestigious vineyards to work alongside winegrowers and provide answers to these problems.
