Quantum technologies

The tools of quantum optics are at the basis of the recent development of quantum technologies. In this research theme, light occupies a prominent place because photons allow an easy transfer of quantum information. Within ISL, many teams are studying the interactions between the electromagnetic field and atomic or molecular systems, defects in solids, or semiconductor nanostructures to further extend the field of potential applications of this booming field.
