Présentation
Objectives

The Master’s program CNS-SR prepares students for careers as network architects, systems and network administrators, and research and development engineers in the field of IT and network infrastructures. It also offers the possibility of pursuing a doctoral thesis, enabling graduates to enter scientific research in both academia and industry. Thanks to the diversity of the courses and the transversal skills acquired, students find opportunities in large companies, tech startups, and research centers alike.

Overall organisation

The Master’s program CNS-SR aims to provide students with all the scientific foundations necessary for the design of networked systems. Emphasis is placed on the deployment, management, monitoring, and optimization of large-scale, high-performance IT infrastructures.

The courses offered in the Master’s program cover a wide range of topics, from the fundamentals of networked systems and communication protocols to advanced distributed computing and cloud infrastructures. They also address resource management and orchestration, infrastructure security, deployment automation, performance optimization, real-time monitoring, as well as emerging approaches related to edge computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), and next-generation networks.

Course Prerequisites

The second year of the Master’s program is accessible to students who have completed the first year of the Computer and Network Systems Master (M1). It is also accessible, upon review of their application, to students holding an M1 in Computer Science, a four-year Bachelor’s or a Master’s in Computer Science, a foreign Master 2 in Computer Science, or an engineering degree with a strong computer science component. All applications are reviewed by the admissions committee.

Internships and supervised projects

Research and development projects related to subjects in fields related to the various courses in the Master’s program will be proposed, throughout the 1st semester.
A mandatory internship is also proposed during the 2nd semester, either in industry or in academia.
