GS Chemistry: Courses

Education and professional integration

The areas of education and professional integration at GS Chemistry are based on two core courses, namely the Master's track in Chemistry and the Doctoral School in Chemical Sciences: Molecules, Materials, Instrumentation and Biosystems (2MIB)

The GS Chemistry provides a comprehensive training environment in all areas of the chemical sciences. This makes it unique amongst universities at a national level. It has about 300 students and 300 PhD students from 70 host unit teams.

The wide range of courses leading to and involving research offered in the Education and Professional Integration portfolio reflects the activities and skills and knowledge applied by the GS Chemistry teams to the major societal challenges relating to health and well-being, energy, the environment and consumer goods, for example.

The development of projects within the GS Chemistry on emerging subjects or those to be consolidated require the use of both disciplinary and transdisciplinary skills. These are drivers of opportunity within the Université Paris-Saclay community.

Chemistry Master's

The Chemistry Master’s degree at Université Paris-Saclay aims to train students who are recognised in the professional world both in France and abroad for their skills, independence, adaptability, creativity, ability to disseminate their knowledge and to promote their work.

The teaching and technical teams wish to provide all the tools and means for future graduates of the Chemistry Master’s to meet the challenges of tomorrow's world (health and well-being, energy, environment, heritage science and consumer goods, for example).

The Master’s track is supported by the research laboratories of the Graduate School of Chemistry’s providers and the strong key subject areas of the GS research area.

It is committed to strengthening links with the engineering schools (AgroParisTech, CentraleSupélec), the University’s partner establishments (PolyTechParis-Saclay, IUT, for example), ENS Paris-Saclay and partners of the GS. The development of professional training courses is one of the directions taken by the GS CHEMISTRY resulting from close collaboration with the industrial companies and businesses on the Plateau de Saclay

Chemistry Master's

VAE and VAP (validation of professional skills/experience)

Within the Graduate School, the Chemistry Master's has for many years addressed the issues of continuing education and the validation of professional experience. The Master's courses allow working professionals or those seeking employment to follow these courses as part of their continuing education. It is also possible for them to validate the degree partially or totally through validation of acquired experience (VAE) or validation of professional experience (VAP). If you have a project, please contact the intended course director directly or the continuing education department at Université Paris-Saclay.

Chemical Science DS Molecules, Materials, Instrumentation and Biosystems (2MIB)

The Chemical Science Doctoral School: Molecules, Materials, Instrumentation and Biosystems (2MIB) is a discipline-based school drawing on all the chemistry faculties within the Université Paris-Saclay community. With more than 300 PhD students and as many supervisors qualified to direct research, ED 2MIB provides training in project management and supervision through a personalised research experience and enables more than 75 PhD students per year to defend their thesis in fields ranging from basic science to highly experimental subjects which are often at the interface with physics or biology.

ED 2MIB

Laboratories and affiliated research facilities

The Graduate School’s education programme is supported by a number of research facilities in order to build on and develop the education/research continuum. The staff of 25 research facilities from 12 providers contribute to education through and for research. The initiatives carried out include work placements, immersions and mentorships.
