On 13 October 2023, Université Paris-Saclay had the honour of welcoming a delegation from one of the its most active partners in Quebec - the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM).

The delegation included Stéphane Pallage, the Rector of UQAM, Guy-Joffroy Lord, Chief of Staff, and Eurydice Matouandou, international relations advisor. The trip marked Stéphane Pallage’s first official visit to France since taking up his post as Rector in March 2023.

Hosted by Estelle Iacona, President of Université Paris-Saclay, the meeting was the opportunity to present the Paris-Saclay ecosystem, as well as the university’s objectives and missions. It allowed the two institutions to strengthen their relationship, as they plan to develop their existing collaborations, which include:

    • A dual degree Master’s programme in Intellectual Property Law, co-supervised by Mélanie Clément-Fontaine (Université Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines - UVSQ)
    • Research projects in Artic studies led by Jan Borm (UVSQ)
    • Cooperation in education innovation, initiated by the Institut Villebon Georges Charpak (Jeanne Parmentier) ;
    • A study exchange programme and a framework agreement for joint theses.

As part of a desire to reinforce UQAM’s courses and research in the field of health, Stéphane Pallage also had the chance to meet and exchange with Philippe Broët from the Graduate School for Public Health and Delphine Joseph from the Graduate School for Health and Drug Sciences.
