On 17 June 2025, Université Paris-Saclay took part in the Taiwan/France Higher Education Leaders Forum at the University of Lille, a strategic event at a time of increasing scientific and academic cooperation between the two countries.
During the forum, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Université Paris-Saclay and National Taiwan University (NTU). Sylvie Retailleau, professor at Université Paris-Saclay, former minister of French higher education and research and former president of Université Paris-Saclay, opened the event and represented the university alongside Guillaume Garreta, Head of International and European Relations at Université Paris-Saclay.
The meeting comes as part of an enhanced dialogue between Université Paris-Saclay and Taiwan, with actions including: high-level delegations and visits; artificial intelligence and quantum computing as part of the assises franco-taïwanaises programme; renewal of the PhD programme cofunded by Université Paris-Saclay and the Taiwanese Ministry of Education; the launch of double degrees; the prospect of an Alain Aspect Quantum centre to boost student, PhD and researcher mobilities in partnership with NTU and ITRI, as well as the recent opening of an R&D centre at Paris-Saclay belonging to the company ProLogium, a leader in lithium ceramic batteries.
An ambitious collaboration and shared values for the benefit of global research, education and innovation.
