Université Paris-Saclay ranked in the global top 80 of the QS World University Rankings 2026
The results of the 2026 edition of the QS World University Rankings were announced on 19 June 2025. Université Paris-Saclay secured its position in the world’s top 100 universities once again and climbed three spots to the 70th place.
Every year, the British higher education analyst QS Quacquarelli Symonds publishes its ranking of the world’s top 1,500 universities based on a dozen indicators which include academic reputation, employer reputation, the number of international students, sustainability, and more.
Université Paris-Saclay secured its position in the global top 80 and climbed three spots to 70th from 73rd place in the ranking’s previous edition. The university made progress in various indicators this year: sustainability (up 163 spots compared to the previous edition), academic reputation and faculty/student ratio.
Thirty-five French higher education institutions feature in the ranking. Université Paris-Saclay is the third of four French universities to appear in the global top 80 (Université PSL 28th; IPP 41st; and Sorbonne Université 72nd).
The QS ranking is one of three internationally renowned higher education rankings which are of great interest to students and researchers. This recent result confirms the university’s performance in other subject-based and general rankings: 12th in the 2024 Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) and 64th in the 2025 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
