Rodolphe Fischmeister honoured by the International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences
The International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences, which met from 2 to 4 November 2025 in Prague (Czech Republic) for its annual congress, awarded the Vladimir Jakovljevic Award for Excellence in Cardiovascular Sciences to Rodolphe Fischmeister.
Rodolphe Fischmeister, research director emeritus at Inserm at the Laboratory of Signalling and Cardiovascular Pathophysiology (SPC/CARPAT - Université Paris-Saclay/Inserm), affiliated with the Faculty of Pharmacy of Université Paris-Saclay, was honoured at the annual congress of the International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences, where he was awarded the Vladimir Jakovljevic Award for Excellence in Cardiovascular Sciences in recognition of his entire career.
This highly awarded scientist focuses primarily on the study of the neuroendocrine regulation of cardiac function, both under normal and pathological conditions, as well as on the exploration of cardiac membrane receptors and their signalling pathways, and the cellular control of ion channels. By combining organ physiology, cellular electrophysiology, fluorescence imaging, molecular biology, and biochemistry, he has highlighted key mechanisms of cardiac pathophysiology, now regarded as reference points in the field.
