
Éric Wasylyk wins bronze medal at Badminton World Championships
From 7 to 14 September 2025, Thailand hosted the Badminton World Championships. Among the competitors, Éric Wasylyk earned a bronze medal in the men’s singles over-45 category.
Éric Wasylyk, Director of the University Physical and Sports Activities Service (Suaps) and Suaps teacher at Université Paris-Saclay, took part in the World Badminton Championships, held in Pattaya (Thailand), where he won bronze in the men’s singles over-45 category - his first ever medal at a World Championship and the only French medal in the singles events at this year’s competition.
A multiple medallist at the French Championships and European Champion in Slovenia in men’s doubles in 2022, Éric Wasylyk had already excelled at the French Veteran Badminton Championships in Tournefeuille (Haute-Garonne) in June 2025, winning three medals in men’s singles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles.
