The study path MPNC (Natural Raw Materials in Cosmetics), in partnership with ISIPCA (International Higher Institute of Perfume, Cosmetics, and Food Aromatics), is designed to train future professionals with dual competencies in chemistry and biology to meet the research and development needs expressed by industry in the field of natural cosmetics and the search for new active ingredients with potential applications in cosmetics.
This 2-year work-study programme with partner companies in the world of cosmetics aims to impart solid multi-disciplinary expertise. Emphasis is placed on in-depth understanding of the biological and chemical mechanisms involved in product formulation and efficacy, while integrating the technological and regulatory issues related to this sector. The focus is on understanding natural ingredients: their biosynthesis, active compounds, and the methods used for their extraction and chemical analysis. Combining courses on dermatology and nutrition, innovation and biotechnology, the cosmetics sector, regulations and cosmetics product development, this study path trains students to actively contribute to the research and development of new active ingredients of natural origin, paving the way for innovative and sustainable applications in the cosmetics industry.

- Design innovative and sustainable cosmetic solutions by applying knowledge of nutrition and dermatology, based on an in-depth understanding of natural ingredients—from their active compounds to their extraction and analysis processes—in compliance with regulatory frameworks and through a critical review of the scientific literature. * Lead a project to develop or characterise raw materials or natural active ingredients, ensuring a scientific watch in the fields of botany, pharmacognosy, and extraction, purification, and analysis technologies, while incorporating considerations of safety, efficacy assessment, regulatory frameworks, and submission dossiers. * Lead a project to develop a finished product incorporating all or part of raw materials of natural origin, ensuring technology monitoring, formulation, and organoleptic testing, while integrating regulatory considerations and submission dossiers. * Structure a regulatory file for an innovative cosmetic raw material, taking into account regulatory, CSR, and economic requirements. * Coordinate basic research, research and development, and marketing and communications departments. * Communicate in English in a professional setting: introduce yourself, present your company and your project, and understand professional and scientific written and oral communications

Target Audience and Entry Requirements
The study path MPNC is open to students who have earned 180 ECTS credits during their first three years of higher education as part of an undergraduate programme in Chemistry or Biology, or any other programme recognised as equivalent in terms of theoretical knowledge.
