Objectives

The International Strategy and Management programme offers graduates a high-level specialised programme in strategy, management, governance, economic and strategic intelligence, and human resources, in their international dimension. This Master’s degree prepares students for a broad range of managerial jobs, mainly in companies with international representations or activities. The Master’s degree “International Strategy and Management” sets scientific and technical programme objectives in several complementary fields of management sciences.

Course Prerequisites

A solid background in management studies and, more specifically, a good understanding of corporate strategy and international management.

Skills
  • Be able to define, structure and apply a strategy for the benefit of executives and operational managers.

  • Implement a project (design, management, team coordination, implementation and management, evaluation, dissemination) that puts multidisciplinary skills into play in a collaborative framework.

  • Perform a considered and detached analysis that takes into account the issues, problems and intricacies of a request or a situation in order to put forward appropriate and/or innovative solutions.

  • Have the capacity to manage an international business development project.

  • Adapt to different social, professional and intercultural contexts, both national and international.

  • Communicate orally and in writing, in a clear and unambiguous manner, in French and at least one other language, in the appropriate register for an audience of specialists or non-specialists.

Career prospects

The International Strategy and Management (SMI) Master is a job-oriented Master's programme that leads to management positions in large multinational groups (within export departments as well as within foreign subsidiaries) on the one hand and, on the other, to positions in the development of international activities for SMEs or for cluster-type business networks. The programme also paves the way to consulting professions in these areas. Though rare, it is possible for graduates to go onto further studies in doctoral programmes.
