M1 Management Stratégique et Changement (MSC)- Apprentissage
Supporting a company through strategic transformation, the improvement of working methods and processes, the roll-out of digital tools, or the evolution of its information systems requires expertise in project management methods, change management, and strategy & organisation consulting.
The MSC Master’s programme therefore aims to train specialists in strategic change management and project management, prepared to take on cross-functional roles (change manager, project manager, PMO, product owner, scrum master, consultant, product manager, HR or marketing project officer) within a global context of environmental, social, and digital transformation of organisations.
Building on a bachelor’s degree, especially in Economics & Management or Business Administration, Year 1 (M1) of the MSC program develops students’ knowledge and skills in strategic management (strategy and corporate social responsibility, organizational management, change management, project management, innovation, digital management, and ethics) and in its functional areas (human resource management, marketing, and performance measurement and management). In addition, courses in English, data analysis, research methods, entrepreneurship, stakeholder law, and managerial communication, together with industry guest lectures and work-based learning/internship periods tied to the completion of an introductory research thesis in strategic management, equip students with practical know-how and interpersonal skills that strongly enhance their professional readiness.
Eligible undergraduate backgrounds for admission to the MSC, Year 1 (M1):
- Primarily: a Bachelor’s degree in Management/Business Administration, Economics & Management, or AES (Administration économique et sociale).
- A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Law, or LEA (Applied Foreign Languages) with a management-oriented focus.
- A management-related Bachelor’s degree that confers the French grade de licence (bachelor’s level).
In addition, a minimum B1 level in English (CEFR) is required, and submission of a Score IAE-Message is appreciated.
General expectations:
- Successful completion—with strong mastery—of undergraduate courses related to the strategic management of organizations.
- A coherent career plan aligned with the program.
- Preferably, one or more internships and/or participation in projects or group activities.
- Demonstrated drive, intellectual curiosity, and autonomy through extracurricular activities.
- Interest in research and the scientific method.
Several courses require students to work in a project-based format to strengthen their ability to collaborate and to apply project management methods.
Work-study (apprenticeship) placements are a key component of training, closely integrated with the knowledge and skills acquired in class. Assessment of the in-company immersion is based on an analytical assignment report paired with a research thesis in strategic management, with the research question tied to the professional context. The aim is to evaluate students’ critical analysis and reflective practice regarding their professional immersion, as well as their ability to conduct an initial piece of applied research in strategic management.
