International welcome meetings - Graduate School of Mathematics
At the end of October 2023, the Graduate School of Mathematics organized welcome meetings for international Master's and PhD students.
The objective was to create convivial meetings (around a snack with cakes, fruit juice, and distribution of goodies) to give them practical information on the course of the year and to help them find the right contacts for their administrative procedures.
The meetings took place on each campus:
- in Orsay, October 23th 2023 at 6pm, organized by the BDE of Maths d'Orsay
- in Evry, October 23th 2023 at 6:00 pm, organized by Viviana Gavilanez, Josue Fransisco Murillo and Belen Simbaña
- in Versailles, October 16th 2023 at 5:00 pm, organized by Maria Abad-Aldonz, Esha Gupta and Pierre-Guy Plamondon
For master's and PhD students who have just arrived in France, this is an opportunity to get help with administrative procedures, ask questions about the mathematics curriculum, and meet other international mathematics students.
Master and PhD students already living in France have also been invited to share their experiences and give advice to newcomers!
These meetings were supported by the creation of information materials that are available online and can be downloaded from this page (check-list, pedagogical booklet...): support for international students.
