M2 Cell Signalling and Integrative Neurosciences

Objectives

This curriculum is aimed at students wishing to work in fundamental research and R&D in areas in which biochemistry, cellular biology, and neurosciences play a major role. This fundamental course focuses on bio membranes, receptors and signalling and, more specifically, on neurosciences and/or physiopathology of cellular signalling.

The major characteristic of this program is the complementary nature of "cellular signalling" and "neurosciences", which are not offered in any other university in France.

Course Prerequisites

Students must have completed teaching units in Cell Signalling and/or Neuroscience over the course of their studies.

Career prospects

For students carrying out a thesis (62% over the past five-year period): jobs are available in the biology, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, as well as in public research and teaching at tertiary level.

For other students (38% over the past five-year period):
- Direct entry into employment (permanent contract or fixed-term contract): Study engineer (EPST), Research and Development (pharmaceutical industry), Technology and competition tracking, Scientific communication and popularisation;
- Entry into employment after additional training of 6 months or one year: Business schools (HEC, ESSEC, etc.), Marketing (high-tech health products), Management positions in Health or Pharmaceutical Industries and Medical Technologies, Clinical Research Associate.
