ENS Paris-Saclay is a French Grande Ecole that recruits students through competitive examinations and applications. It is organized into several depertments of Research and Teaching, including a Department of Physics. The latter admits students in Physics at the L3 (third-year undergraduate) or M1 (first-year Master's) level to prepare the ENS Paris-Saclay diploma. This diploma includes two years of study after M1: one year of aspecific track and a second year devoted to a M2 in Physics Research
The Master 1 (M1) in Physics at ENS Paris-Saclay is only open to students admitted to the ENS Paris-Saclay diploma program (specific application via https://ens-paris-saclay.fr/admission/sur-dossier/voie-etudiante/physique-admission-sur-dossier). The M1 is structured into two semesters and includes a long research internship in a laboratory. Courses begin in early September and end in late March. The internship starts after the end of courses and runs until July.

L'objectif est de former les étudiants en physique fondamentale en leur offrant un large choix de spécialités en plus d'une base généraliste.De plus, des modules de travaux pratiques et de projets expérimentaux permettent d'acquérir des compétences nécessaires au niveau master.Cette formation est complétée d'un stage de recherche de 15 semaines en laboratoire, si possible à l'étranger.
